CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

TRILLIUM YOGA PRACTICE  

This active yoga class combines postures, breath, and meditation in a safe and challenging environment. Postures will be presented from an inner alignment that encourages deep opening and inner connection with modifications and advanced options to ensure that students work safely, comfortably, and to their individual potential.
Each week’s practice will include a focused intention inspired by poetry and yoga philosophy to assist students in deepening the transformational effects of yoga practice.

TRILLIUM YOGA FUNDAMENTALS  

Learn the basic yoga postures and breathing techniques in a warm, inviting, and supportive environment.  Full instruction will be given for each pose, including modifications, when appropriate, as a means of finding alignment while developing strength, stamina, and flexibility. A variety of meditation styles will also be presented using breath and awareness to alleviate stress. 
Includes basic yoga philosophy to help students develop and understand how body, mind, and spirit combine in a full yoga experience.  Appropriate for students new to yoga and those looking to deepen their knowledge of yoga fundamentals.

AWARENESS HEALS
Therapeutic Yoga and Feldenkreis

Experience the collaborative therapeutic benefits of Gentle Yoga and The Feldenkrais Method/Awareness Through Movement.
In this class students will learn an innovative movement method of body awareness education that teaches how to move our bodies more efficiently, without stress, and with greater self-awareness.
Awareness Through Movement lessons are verbally guided gentle movements sequences which help you learn the simple pleasures of moving with ease, increased flexibility, recovery from injury.

GENTLE YOGA THERAPEUTICS

Yoga Therapy encourages students to seek balance and well being on all levels.  Each class integrates mindful movement with breath, body scanning and yoga nidra (imagery and deep relaxation) to open the body, relieve stress, and encourage inner connection and acceptance.
This gentle yoga class is appropriate for students dealing with health issues ranging from chronic pain and injury, to cancer, depression, digestive issues, heart conditions, and stress related symptoms.  Yoga therapy reminds students that we are not defined by our diagnosis, mind chatter, or symptoms by mobilizing the individual's potential for transformation and healing on all levels.

MEDITATION
Technique and Practice

Each session will begin with gentle warm ups and breathwork to open the body and settle the mind, followed by 15-20 minutes of guided and silent meditation. Each week will feature a specific technique including yoga philosophy, basic instructions, and space for practice. Enjoy the wordless support of group meditation in a welcoming and encouraging environment. This class is appropriate for new and experienced meditators.

This class is free. Donations will be accepted.

PRIVATE YOGA & YOGA THERAPY SESSIONS
(available on request)

Jumpstart your yoga practice with a private session, designed for your specific physical, psycho-emotional, and spiritual needs. Working one-on-one is a wonderful opportunity to deepen and personalize the issues that bring you to the yoga mat. Private yoga therapy sessions combine body scanning, breath awareness, physical movement, meditation, and imagery to promote healing of the body, mind, and spirit.
Learn how to reduce stress and promote inner connection through presence, awareness, and relaxation. Yoga therapy is a complimentary healing modality that encourages students to seek balance, physically, energetically, emotionally, and spiritually. "Everything you need to heal, to be whole, is within you now."
